SOLWAY EQUESTRIAN PROGRAMME
Annual Programme
The Equestrian Academy programme operates throughout the whole school year.
An on-site horse programme, focusing on specialist coaching, operates throughout Term 1, the first half of Term 2, the second half of Term 3, and the whole of Term 4.
When horses are off-site over the Winter turn-out, the focus is on horse management and rider personal development. This includes off-site trips and on-site equine specialists (vets, farriers, racehorse studs, professional riders yards) and rider personal development (nutrition, mental skills and conditioning).
Weekly Programme
The Weekly/Daily programme includes training, coaching, horse care and rider personal development.
Equestrian Events
Interschool, Regional, and National Events – these are under direction of the Academy Director.
Equine Study Opportunities
Equine Courses are available to students as a curriculum subject, and can be added to individual Academic study programmes.
Other Extra-curricular opportunities – developing the ‘Whole Girl’
Equestrian will be the priority Sport for Academy riders.
Both the Summer and Winter Sport Programmes are structured for girls to participate in both other recreational and performance sports. Similarly, participation in other non-sport programmes (eg Music and Dance) can be managed and is encouraged.
