ERO Report

The Education Review Office (ERO) regularly reviews the performance of all New Zealand schools. 

Solway College was last reviewed in 2016 and ERO is likely to carry out the next review in three years. The full report from our 2016 review is available from the ERO website, but here are some of its highlights:

- Special character and Christian values underpin college life

- The "Making Excellence Happen" programme empowers students to achieve personal       standards of excellence and reach their full potential in all areas of college life  

- Skills and attributes are fostered so that students are confident and resilient

- Individual needs, strengths and aspirations are well understood 

- Personalised responses actively promote well-being and achievement

- Flexible curriculum promotes and supports equitable and excellent outcomes for all

- High levels of achievement in NCEA and National Standards

- Teachers actively involved in professional development

- Calm purposeful learning environmernt where well-being is nurtured 

- Maori learners, their whanau and aspirations are well known to leaders and teachers

- Students empowered to take responsibility to learn and participate and achieve

- Meaningful pathways for each student
