Solway College Old Girls Association
The Old Girls Association was established in 1921 by Solway's earliest former students. Ever since that time an Annual Reunion has been held, originally at the school, but in later years also at venues throughout the North Island.
Today the Association is served by branches in Auckland, Waikato, Manawatu/ Rangitikei and Hawkes Bay and area groups in Bay of Plenty, Wellington and Taranaki. For further information about your nearest branch or area group please contact:
Pat Cleaver, Secretary SCOGA, 6A Maihi Crescent, Maungatapu, Tauranga 3112.
Phone: (07) 544-0670 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Association's Annual General Meeting is always held in conjunction with the Annual Reunion. An Executuve Committee comprising representatives from all branches and area groups meets on two occasions every year.
Scholarships and Bursaries
The provision of Bursaries and Scholarships is also a prerogative of the Association. Recipients of bursaries and scholarships are recognised formally at the Academic Colours Ceremony held in the first term of the school year.
In recent years the Association has successfully completed two major projects
- The re-siting and restoration of St Columba Church in the Solway College grounds
- The establishment of an Archives Unit documenting the history of the school
